I want to reach out to a guy that had a crush on me in high school

This guy I knew in high school had a huge crush on me for a few years. It was known amongst the whole grade and people would tell me all the time his feelings towards me. I never really paid attention to him however.

He had invited me to his sports games but I would always just read a book and generally be uninterested. I know I probably sound shitty right now, but I wonder what would happen if I reached out to him four years later. He was actually pretty attractive and I wonder what would happen if we connected. We stopped being in contact the last few years because of life and all.

I knew he liked me, but I wonder if too much time has passed for his feelings to have disintegrated the last few years. I have his phone # and social media and want to send a text saying it’s me and just reaching out to see how he’s doing. I don’t to be weird/creepy though…should I shoot my shot, or just not text him and move on?
