I’m curious since my date the other day showed up in Hawaiian shirt and shorts.

Thank you for your cooperation in this “poll” in advance! 😉

  1. 29M I usually wear some type of casual floral button down with the top 2(sometimes top 3) buttons unbuttoned. Chino shorts if it’s really hot and outdoors, chino pants if it’s indoors, but this all depends on which makes the outfit better. No show socks and low top sneakers and small chain and nice watch for accessories

  2. If it’s hot out and it’s casual environment, a breezy short sleeve button up shirt, nice shorts, and decent summer shoes.

If it’s upscale or a nicer venue, a nicer tailored short sleeve, nice pants and shoes, or nice denim and dress shoes.

I don’t know what my answer means to your experience, but we don’t all show up in our Walmart best.

I also communicate with my date what the venue is and gently get on the same page. I have a date tomorrow night and I told her “If you’re not familiar, the spot is nicer casual in case you’re wondering…not dress & nice heels nice, nor would I expect that from you, just a more upscale eatery/bar if that helps”.

If it’s beach/outdoors/coffee/supercasual meeting, I’d wear nice casual shorts, a nice patterned t-shirt or casual shirt, and some nice summer shoes like Keens or something.

  3. During the day for coffee or outside date- nice shorts, good t shirt, runners.. evening meal or drink- jeans, runners/boots, polo t shirt. Nice watch of course always too.. I’m no fashionista though, I don’t have a pair of chinos at all

  4. I’ll be real, I only own plain colored tees, one NASA shirt, and Hollow Knight (video game) shirts. So I’d probably be wearing a HK shirt and jeans. Add a jacket if it’s cold (you said summer so no), and switch with shorts if it’s hot. I definitely know I could take more care of what I wear day-to-day, but I’ve never cared personally.

  5. Coffee- a blue dress shirt, Jeans, aviator shades (it just looks well with my beard) and tennis shoes, and a backwards ball cap

Lunch, same thing but drop the hat

Dinner- a shaven face, no shades no hat, a dark blue hoodie (arms get cold easily) with a polo shirt and cargo shorts

Beach- sleeveless shirt (recently discovered I look masculine dispite my skinny build while wearing one) and swim trunks with aviators and backwards hat

  6. Dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up, blue or grey shirt, black slacks or jeans, my shades and a necklace/ring combo.

  7. That’s a lot of locations you listed but it’s going to heavily depend on exactly where we’re going.

Beach vs a patio restaurant for example is going to differ greatly.

  8. Casual won’t impress a date. I once knew a guy who wore a suit and tie to mow his lawn.

  9. Coffee or lunch, I would wear something casual. Probably jeans. Dinner would be something more smart casual or semi-formal.

  10. Depends on the setting, but coffee or lunch would probably be a short sleeve button up shirt (or polo) and shorts. For dinner I might wear pants depending on the setting (or if I’m coming from work).

  11. Probably a button down with the sleeves rolled up, and khaki shorts or slacks, leather shoes, watch.

  12. So I wore this to an ice cream/ walk along the pier date. It was a grey polo with slim straight blue jeans and white sneakers and a black watch

  13. As woman I would probably find an ick of wore sandals or flip flops unless you went to beach or water based activity
