A good portion of the advice I’ve seen here suggest picking up a new hobby, going out to restaurants/bars, joining a sports club, etc., to improve social skills and be more interesting. However, many of these involve spending money.
What are more of the cost-effective or no-spend ways to be a more interesting person?

Learn jokes and fun facts. Being a good listener is also a power skill.
Sometimes having an activity like walking, hiking, cooking can be a very powerful moment to have with someone too.
But could be a chess or sports club, a volunteering org, a bunch of different things.
Accepting yourself as an interesting person as you are right now.
