Potatoes with Butter or Quark. Cheap, but healthy and delicious.
A lot of traditional meals are pretty cheap though and often make use of leftovers or not so desirable parts of animals. E.g. Sauerbraten was made from the meat of old horses.
[This thing](https://cdn.receptnajedlo.sk/v/sk/1/1d78e1916a42455965891e35ce0f6284.jpg), made of unknown ingredients. Some people even say that it tastes good, but I don’t believe them.
If you are a student and you have moved out of your parents house chances are you’ll survive only on pasta with canned tuna.
If your vegetarian you can stick to pasta with oil and chili
“Smaženky.” It is basically a fried bread wrapped in egg, with mustard and some vegetable, usually onion, tomato and pickle. Combine it with beer and you are officially Czech.
* Pre-made frozen meatballs with spaghetti or mashed potatoes
* Falu sausage with spaghetti or mashed potatoes
* Pyttipanna (hash)
Pretty much all traditional “husmanskost” meals are really cheap too. E.g. Cabbage soup or potato pancakes (raggmunk).

Germany: fried bread sprinkled with sugar. Some call it “Poor Knight”
Nistipata (eng. “Junkie stew” – notice: not a stew) also more kindly known as “makaronimössö” (eng. “Pasta mush” notice: macaroni generally refers colloquially to all types of pasta here)

Minced meat, onion (can be skipped) and boiled pasta fried on a pan. Eat with ketchup. Seasonings can be added while frying if you have any. Taco seasoning, grill seasoning mix and pepper of course work well, but really it’s up to your own imagination.
Really a local delicacy.
Tuna with pasta, tuna with beans onion and coriander, sausage with pasta
