I (23m) live in a pretty rural area that isn’t very youth friendly (not many bars or social gathering places around and those that do exist are for the elderly) ie I live in a retirement community. So I feel I have to rely on dating apps to even give me a chance. I’ve mainly tried tinder, bumble (works better in my area) and hinge. I could probably count the number of likes I’ve gotten on both hands and I’ve got a total of 3ish matches and only one of them led to a conversation (can’t talk first on bumble) but to find out she was just looking for a friend for the summer bc she just moved to the area (first date got canceled a hour before and then got ghosted a week after). Im not jaw dropping but i wouldn’t say I’m repulsing. I’ve looked online to see what generally works on a profile, I’ve had others help me with pictures and bio, I swipe right more than left but yet still no luck. I’m not trying to be “boo hoo me” I want to better myself bc obviously what I’m doing now isn’t working. Any advice dating app or dating in general would be helpful (especially in a rural area).
