Why did he keep coming back to talk to me if he was so mad at me for dating someone else? 27 F 27 M

I have a hard issue on my heart that’s troubled me for quite awhile.

My guy friend and I had a thing, but he didn’t want to officially date. However, he got mad when I moved on and kissed someone else, told me to fuck off, etc.

However, the situation was never really resolved. No apology on his end. No closure. He came back one day to be my friend acting like nothing was wrong.

He then started hitting on my friends and would laugh when I’d get annoyed

Why would he have done this? I just don’t understand why he would cuss me out & then come back like nothing happened
