I (30f) am being ghosted once again after a first date with (31m) that I thought had gone well last week. I know everyone is ghosting everyone now, but it keeps happening and I am struggling to not take it personally at this point.

When I go on a first date either I don’t like the guy in which case I will let him know via text I don’t wanna see him anymore. Or, when I am interested, the guy on the date tells me how much they liked me and can’t wait to see me again and then ghosts me the next day.

This happens whether we had sex or not on the first date the result doesn’t change, so I can’t really think that he ghosted because he got what he wanted.

I know there are many reasons why guys do this, it’s just starting to get really depressing. Even if I just want something casual they disappear. This last guy actually messaged me the evening of the day after we met and I was surprised, however after I replied to that it’s been radio silence.

  1. When are you interested after a first date, do you text the guy to let him know and ask him for a second date?

  2. Ghosting is pretty psychopathic imo. It’s like you’re treating someone like a toy you don’t want to play with anymore. I do understand that in certain situations ghosting is the only option, like when that person is doing some out of line shit, or you know they won’t be able to take a no. But in most cases, I don’t see why not just letting the person know that it’s not working out.
