As soon as you may know in the United Kingdom we don’t have Kool-Aid so we have to import it from you guys

We pay about £1 to £2 per sachet and I’m just curious on how much you guy’s actually buy it for

  1. The little packets that don’t have sugar?

$0.20 at my local grocery store.

They probably take another $0.25 in sugar that you provide on your own.

  2. The concentrated flavor powder packets you mean? Usually about $0.50 per pqcket, coming in 24 or 48 packs.

  3. $0.30 for the unsweetened ~0.13oz (varies by flavor) packets at my closest Walmart store.

  4. I think it’s hilarious you call a kool-aid packet a “satchet.”

Which yeah, that’s the right word, it just sounds so classy for describing Kool-Aid. It’s like calling a cheeseburger a “ground beef and cheese sandwich”

  5. I haven’t bought any for a while but the generic ones used to be like $0.15 with the real ones being like $0.25, excluding the sugar. I think you can get packets with the sugar in them for a little more. Probably cheaper per piece if you bought a big pack of them. If you are making a big amount, you can get plastic tubs too, which are probably more expensive but are commonly on sale for a dollar or two and include the sugar in the mix.

  6. Fun fact: When Americans hear “sachet” we probably picture a cheesecloth satchel of herbs to steep in your French pot au feu, or a handmade hemp bag of lavender made by a kindly old neighborhood hippy craft mom that you hang from your closet to add to the ambiance.

  7. A single packet would typically be about $0.25 if bought on its own. Buying in a bulk pack will put it down to $0.20 or even $0.10 per packet.

  8. Sachet, huh? You get the fancy stuff. We normally buy it by the can/tub, but it’s also available by the pouch, or box of pouches.
