How painful is gout?

  1. I got hit with gout in my early 20s. It sucks. Its like needles in your toe for weeks. 0/10 would recommend.

  2. Super painful. It’s could just be the big toe but you won’t get able to walk or even do one leg stance

  3. Worst pain I’ve experienced, had it in my toe, ankle, knee and most recently across the top of my foot. The last was the worst, there was no getting comfy for the pain to ease as no matter how I rested, there was some strain

You can get meds to manage your uric acid levels, plus some diet changes can help

  4. Imagine the area affected, as if you are being set on fire and can’t put it out.

Now, imagine a baby’s breath being able to set it off. A spiderweb silk falling on the spot, causing it to set off. A cough from across the room pushing air at your affected gout area, causing it to throb with unquenchable pain.

Good luck going to sleep with it, as you can’t put even a light sheet over yourself for fear it will trigger the pain.

For weeks. And nothing you can really do about it.

I’d suggest taking Tart Cherry Extract pills a few times a week to stave it off. If you are in the middle of a flare-up, find some cherry juice to drink.

  5. It was never properly diagnosed but I had this weird pain in the bottom of my foot. It was so painful I couldn’t put pressure on it at all. I tried everything, ibuprofen, sticking my whole foot into a bowl of ice, crutches, stretching, etc. It disappeared about a week later.
