I [M21] broke up with my girlfriend [F21] 3 months ago after being together for almost 4 years. 2 months after the break up, I met another person. We had lovely long conversations, we’re generally on the same wavelength and just really understand each other well. I slowly noticed that I started to develop feelings. I really miss having these long conversations where we forget about time.
I strongly believe developing feelings for this person only 2 months after breaking up is an emotional reaction to suddenly being alone and really missing a romantic companionship. I am far from ready to ask this person out, I wish I was. But of course, I need a lot of time to heal.
It’s just frustrating to know that I could possibly only have these feelings because I miss having someone, and I really can’t do anything against that. It’s still an interesting reaction.
TL;DR breaking up with my girlfriend and quickly developed feelings for another person left me confused.

It all depends on when you’re ready to date. Me and my ex dated for three years, lived together for some time; and after it ended nearly 3 months after he found another girl that he’s happy with, and has been with for months at this point. He’s very happy with her, and that’s perfectly fine.
Me on the other hand, I don’t see myself wanting to get into anything again, it’s been a year and i’m still happily single.
It could be you’re trying to get over her, or you’re actually ready and pulled away in the relationship. (my ex was pulled away months before i broke up with him, so i’m sure that’s why it was easy for him to “move on”.)
If you’re happy then be happy with this girl. Life’s to short to wonder if you gotta wait years to date again. If you’re ready and happy, go for it! wish nothing but the best
The first thing that comes along after a break up is often the inappropriate recipient of all the wishes that your previous relationship never fulfilled.
In other words: we use rebounds to soothe the fresh hurt the break up just made.
