Hi all, just want to confirm the consensus on how/when to communicate with online dating that you’re “not looking for anything serious at the moment”. I am using tinder and im genuinely not looking for anything serious and I have that stated in my bio currently.

Is it best to state that there? Or should this be divulged during message exchange, on the first date or just feel the first date out? Is stating “im not looking for anything serious at the moment” the best way to put it?

I genuinely don’t want to lead anyone on, but I also don’t want to scare anyone off. Anything could happen and I could meet an amazing person for something more but I want to be clear on expectations of where I am at.

Thanks for your help!

  1. What’s your reason for not looking for anything serious? As you say, anything could happen.. so why not keep an open mind? I don’t think any girl expects anything serious after one date with a guy from tinder.

  2. If you are definitely not looking for anything serious say so during the message exchange. If its an option depending on the app make sure you select that option too.
