Assuming you had the weekend off which two days would be best to take off.
Mine is mon and tue. Friday is normally just a less depressing day so it wouldn’t make sense to take a Friday.

  1. Monday & the previous Friday. 4 day weekend.

If not, then Monday and Friday same week. 2 X 3 day weekends in a row.

  2. Tuesday and Thursday – this way you work one day have a day off work one day have a day off work one day and have two days off

  3. Monday and Friday I think. A long weekend every weekend and a core in the week you can get stuff done without it being disjointed. Seems nice to have a day off, then work, then a day off but I think it would be hard to get into a routine.

  4. Wednesday and Friday.

Two solid days of work – can get lots done.
    Day off.
One more day at work to do anything else you need to do that week.
Friday off to start the long weekend.

Depends on your job though really.

  5. I work Mon tue wed. Good to get the week out the way early and have days before the weekend. But I cans we thr appeal to a mo day off. Plus bank Holidays come out my holiday entitlement which is rubbish.

  6. Well I get Fridays off anyway, if I’m still allowed to take 2 days off (as per the question) I’ll have Monday and Thursday leaving just Tuesday and Wednesday to work.

I like the sound of this

  7. Tues and Wed. It’d be like having another weekend but one where I could go shopping or places without it being too busy like on Saturday.

  8. Tuesday and Wednesday- I used to have these as my off days back when I worked in retail and I stand by my mid week weekend

  9. I did Mon and Weds off. The Tues work allowed me to stay ahead so I didn’t have a pile of early week shit to do at the end of the week, and it was psychologically easier than Monday, for some reason

  10. For me it would be:

Tuesday, as monday blues wears down the weekend freshness, and friday as an attachment to the long weekend

  11. A girl I worked with used to work Tue-Thurs. At that company, Bank Holidays were just freebies, so she missed out on a lot of paid leave.

My wife currently works Mon-Thurs, so the only BH she misses out on regularly is Good Friday, but Friday is a good one to have off, I think – I would if I could. Traffic is always the worst on Fridays, and for some reason it’s the day that everyone’s else’s failure to plan becomes my emergency.

  12. I currently have every other Tuesday off and I chose it because it’s quieter doing things. Loads of people take Fridays off and you’re right it’s usually less stressful.
Probably mon & tues then can always taken long weekend away holidays whenever

  13. I’d take Thursday and Friday.

Friday is a common early finish day which means more opportunity to meet up with people.
A good number of businesses close Monday/Tuesday to give the staff a break after working a weekend.

  14. I’m going to go against the grain here and vote for Tuesday and Thursday. I can handle one day at a time if I know I’ll never work two in a row. Unless the wife gets this deal too, in which case Monday and Tuesday.

  15. Personally I would go for Mondays and Thursdays.

But that’s because they’re the only days I work.

  16. 2 days together (mon and Tue, thurs and fri in particular) for a long weekend away whenever you want

  17. Thurs and Friday, that way you still get long weekends but don’t have to worry about getting unpaid bank holidays or having to work them in lieu (I know place do this).

I currently do 4 day weeks, but my day is Thursday as it breaks up the week and the missus is off on Friday as her rota day so makes childcare for the week easier, plus being in on a Friday makes it easier to sneak for a post work pint on a Friday too

  18. Tuesday and Thursday means you never work two days consecutively and – from a work point of view – you’re around at both the start and end of the week, and are never away for more than a day. A colleague chose this pattern and suggested it left him feeling more refreshed than other patterns.

  19. I used to work Wednesday to Friday. It’s better than the stop-start of splitting the week.

Also, as a 0.6 part timer you will get 60% of bank holiday entitlement, but most bank holidays are Mondays, so you end up getting extra time off (whereas if you work Monday to Wednesday you can end up having to use up annual leave on a bank holiday).
