hello! just wanted some advice, i (female 24) went on a first date with this guy last night. (22 male) we met on bumble and met up after chatting for a few days. the date was lovely, super organic/natural, talked about everything life related and we stayed at a bar talking from 7pm-2:30am, not one awkward moment. great energy. only thing missing a bit for me was the romantic chemistry – like I didn’t feel that spark or huge fire-y attraction. Not that he was ‘ugly’ or anything just like not this crazy attraction but I had a great time and had a few moments where i was like “maybe i could see it romantically.” Anyway, we didn’t do anything physical & he texted me today saying he feels like we’d be better suited off as friends and just wanted to be honest. i was willing to maybe go on a second date to see the vibes but he texted me this.

my question is has anybody ever had this happen and it blossomed a good friendship or should i skip out?

  1. You guys are most likely going to stop talking to each other soon.

Not liking each other very much after a first date isn’t a good foundation for a friendship.

  2. I had it happen; once. Had a date with a really attractive woman; we got along well, liked each other, but.. no romantic chemistry. The next day, we talked and agreed to become platonic friends. Still are.
