Every time I post or comment here I come back to my phone with a bunch of creeps in my messages saying things I dont even wanna repeat! Everything I even post here involves my husband. You know Im married, LEAVE ME ALONE!

    Every post I see a F talking about looking for a F there are comments saying how about a dick. I can only imagine what hits their inbox.

  4. I get a lot of “Hey”. Do guys seriously think that saying “hey” to a complete internet stranger is going to entice that stranger into a sexual conversation. It’s always nsfw profiles that are new/low karma.

I know 🙁 its gotten to the point where im just afraid to open messages on reddit, i avoided this message from someone for weeks after I’d posted a comment here and I found out that it was someone I told that they could message me whenever they wanted help or were feeling alone and im always here to like vent yk? then i finally was like its oky just open it, and i felt so bad 🙁 they just wanted to vent 🙁

  15. There’s a setting you can set in reddit preferences that prevents people from being able to message you.

    Click preferences -> Blocked -> “Show private messages from:” -> “trusted users” -> “Save”

  17. I’m pretty sure the venn diagram of guys who are sending creepy pm’s and guys who will read and agree with this post is two separate circles.

    Though I really don’t know what can be done about it. Is it possible to block only new accounts from messaging you? So that would hopefully filter out some of the creepy pm’s.

    Comiserations OP, it’s not fair that dealing with creepy pm’s is a cost of posting/participating on this sub that most women have to pay.

  22. I get them a lot too. I take a screenshot and send it to my fiancé….then we either laugh at the desperation, or get mad together about the audacity. Even after this comment, I bet I continue to get them. Some men are just gross.

  23. It makes me worry about younger people coming here with questions, I sometimes wish they wouldn’t post their age. Especially the people posting who are under 18. They write a title and put (16f) or (16m) or whatever, and I worry they put a target on themselves for creeps. I know the creeps show up no matter what, but of course they’re going to single out younger people.
