First of all, I definitely overthink things but I also don’t like to make people feel bad and I’m terrible at correcting people in the moment or explaining myself.

Basically, I was in my friend’s wedding. She booked an entire area of the hotel and no one stayed there except for me. I didn’t know this until very late on. Bare in mind we live down the street so it was unnecessary but we planned to hang out in her room after the wedding and whatever else for tomorrow.

The hotel was very expensive and I realized that I could still hang out in her hotel room and leave. Also I totaled my car the night before on the way back from helping make the bouquets and was more desperate for money Additionally, nothing would be going on the next day which I wasn’t informed of until much later. The brides would be having breakfast for Father’s Day with their dads. So the night comes and I asked the hotel staff if it was too late to can el. I was still unsure so I thought about it but they said no anyway.

Fast forward to last night I saw them for the first time since the wedding. My boyfriend starts cricitising the hotel and the brides agree but then he says I tried to cancel my room the night of and laughs. After that my friend got distant and I wonder if I should reach out and say anything or if it’s not that big of a deal. It wasn’t meant to be a secret but I would’ve preferred to give better details and context

  1. I don’t see what you did wrong here.

I see no reason to overexplain why you’re not staying at a hotel down the street from your house, seems pretty self explanatory to me.
