A guy I know just asked if I want to go for a coffee, and he didn’t say it as a date per-say, just “would you like to go for a coffee some time” but even if it’s as friends I feel we don’t really have much in common.

Do people use any ‘techniques’ for turning people down other than ‘I’m busy’. I’ll still see him every two weeks at film club so I’m paranoid he’ll keep asking, but he’s a nice guy so I don’t want to ignore him or anything.

  1. Being “too busy” is the easiest way to do it without hurting someone’s feelings. Usually people get the hint and stop asking. If you WERE interested you’d say “I can’t this week, but maybe sometime soon!”

  2. Just say youre not interested. Its better to be up front about it so things dont get weird.
