I recently found out about Washington state, Colorado, and Nevada passing bills that offer their constituents public-option plans for healthcare. How exactly does it work? What are the pros and cons? And do you think these are the first steps towards making universal healthcare a reality across the US?

Please do not hesitate to offer your own inputs.

  1. A lot of states have this, and we have this federally nationwide. healthcare.gov

  2. Those states will be contracting with private companies. We’ll see in the coming years what will happen, but we all know it’ll be successful. It’s ignorance and stubbornness preventing us from having affordable healthcafe in this country.

    I don’t know.

    Possibly I suppose.

Washington is fucked on taxes,.but we got hella.money so I’m sure we can make it work.

  4. It hasn’t gone into effect yet, but I’m in favor of a public option. I could see cost eventually being an issue but for the time being we actually have a tax surplus.
