I just changed my birth control to implanion, I had an issue where I would bleed during sex with certain contraceptive pills before and thought it might not happen but unfortunately it did. Previously I was in a long term relationship and my ex made me feel horrid if it happened so I came of the pill when the relationship ended since then I’ve been sleeping with a new partner on and off, when I wasn’t on any contraceptive it didn’t happen but just the other day it did, he didn’t acknowledge it but obviously would of noticed, my question is, is this a huge deal for men? It’s not pools of blood by the way, it’s like a table spoon of super red clear blood. Is it better or worse he didn’t acknowledge it?

Side note: I have had every which, what, test there is over the course of year’s and essentially my body just reacts this way to certain hormones I’ll try it for 3 months as recommended but it’s really a very daunting side effect

  1. I’m confused. I see birth control in your post, but the blood is more a side effect and not due to your cycle?

In either case, a dude shouldn’t be putting his dick in if he’s going to have a mental breakdown over some blood. I can see maybe some people being squeamish around blood, but I can’t see someone blaming you for bleeding lol. Your ex is a man-baby that shouldn’t be touching women.

If it’s cycle blood, no big deal and just seems natural to me. Dump any dude that has a problem with that. Otherwise, my main concern would be that I’ve injured my partner in some way.

  2. F here. Spotting only during or after sex sounds more likely due to a sensitive cervix than hormones, so that could be happening. Regardless of my cycle, if my cervix is touched too much, I will spot.

Never had a guy make a big deal about it. And it’s not like it’s something you have control over. If a guy has a problem with it, he needs to grow up.

  3. Your ex suuuucks. There’s nothing wrong with you. I’m not sure if you’re a young person, but being grossed out because of a little blood is a very immature and inexperienced reaction. It’s also super misogynistic and you’re better off without him. I don’t think most guys even care about the period week. They’d rather put a towel down and be Moses for 2-5 minutes and then clean off lol

  4. It could be that you’re just drier because of the hormones, increasing the risk to bleed. Plus the size of the other person can affect it as well. I personally bled quite often (sometimes to the point where they asked if I started my period) until I switched birth control, and now it only happened once in 4 months or something. Also, add lube! It really helped me at least.
