I’m 24 she’s 21, we’ve been together for three years. My job doesn’t offer medical insurance so when they started getting worse I told them to stop working because they can’t get health insurance through the state while we are both working we make too much together.. my mom is judgmental and mean I will admit it lmao but she’s my life and I can’t imagine my life without her but I can’t imagine my life without my partner either… it’s to the point where today my partner told me that they aid “If you can never drop her idk what we’re gonna do cause she’s never gonna treat me with respect I don’t want her at my wedding I don’t want to see her ever” I don’t know what to do…. I don’t want to lose either of them she’s my only friend besides them I’m autistic I can’t make friends easily

What does your mom do to disrespect your partner? I agree, it’s fair to not want to cut your mom out of your life, but it’s also important that you’re setting boundaries regarding how your mom treats the people you care about. If your mom is making judgmental comments, excluding your partner from events, or whatever other mean thing she’s doing, it’s up to you to tell her that it’s not acceptable, and stand up for your partner.
