I notice that whenever I’m in on the bus or I’m waiting on the bus at the bus stop that people stare at me like I’m some alien or something. It’s mostly old people who are doing this and sometimes people who are my age I’m 18 if anyone’s wondering. I can’t tell if I’m giving off some weird type of vibes for this to be happening to me . But even if I’m giving off weird vibes it’s not their business to judge me it’s not like I’m hurting other people or something. I just sit like a normal person I don’t do questionable stuff that would really freak people out or would make them really concern so I really don’t understand why they’re staring at me I just want to mind my business and be left alone

  1. I think people just tend to observe other people in general. Especially with things like public transportation. It’s an open area welcome to anyone, and many different kinds of people are on there. Same as with large cities, planes, parks etc. chances are, they are also looking at other people too. Maybe you have interesting style, or unique features, or idk something that has peaked their curiosity. It’s not always a bad thing or a reflection of you. It’s usually a reflection of how they are and how they act. Also, idk where you’re located – but in some parts of the US and in some other countries, staring is much more socially acceptable. Also if it’s the old people staring, they aren’t the generation that stays on their phone the whole time so they may look around to stay entertained. Try not to take it personally in public spaces.

  2. oh dont take it personally,, personally i have ADHD and im ways looking at everyone and everything, i inspect every little detail of my enviroment and if i happen to stare at someone its usually nothing, im just looking. i literally have no thoughts. 👍 dont be intimadated, people have less thoughts than u would expect lmao i get stared a lot in buses but i have a rather flamboyant style so its valid.

  3. Here’s my perspective, for whatevs its worth:

You literally are minding your own business and being left alone.

I walk a lot n take public transit myself n sure, I have the experience allatime where it feels like people are looking/staring/whatevs at me… n ppl probs have the same experience of me, as well. But realistically, most the time, we’re probs not actually looking at each other with any intent. We probs happen to be looking in that direction, or happen to be the only other person at the stop, or happen to have moved/walked/etc in each other’s line of vision and happened to have caught some fraction of each other’s attention that is otherwise largely focused in our own heads.

But I figure, I’m sure my gaze falls on ppl allatime. I know I ppl watch a bit when out n about some cuz… wtf else am I gonna look at, especially when waiting for or on a bus or train. I’m never thinking too hard bout it or judging no one, so the feeling that other ppl ARE doing that to me? Probs just my own insecurities n nuthin’s actually happening, I suspect.
