I’m alone IRL, so I come on here as a social outlet but it’s just exhausting to bring anything up. I find myself not really wanting to engage anymore.

Is there a way to approach the site without being made to feel stupid, or having to “defend” anything?

  1. Opinions are the thing that turn into discussions the most, especially when they’re presented as a statement about the thing, rather than a statement about your relation to the thing.

Besides, what other kind of conversation about your opinion did you expect?

  2. It’s just fun arguing with people, especially here where it’s a stranger on the internet. Genuinely, I get disappointed when I get a reply, and it isn’t some Redditor freaking out about what I said.

  3. What I would say is if someone makes you feel stupid, it’s because you’re allowing them to make you feel that way. Don’t give random people such power over you. Because you think differently, etc doesn’t make you stupid. And you certainly don’t have to ever defend your opinion on anything here. Fuck them. Enjoy who you are and don’t read your comments 🙂

  4. I just mostly ignore arguments I don’t want to engage in. Nobody is forcing me to argue on here.

  5. Reddit has a bad reputation in general.

Truth is people think they can act like A-holes on line and accuse you of things you didn’t say and everyone reward it.

Stay away from politics, anything to do with gender, or have strong opinions IE temper your comments.
