No, I don’t think that your penis getting wet would make it soft. Not physically at least. It’s been engineered to go into a wet space. Psychologically perhaps? Do you have an aversion to sweat or wetness? That could have been a turn off for you.
Also, penises get soft sometimes for all kinds of reasons. You were going for a long time, maybe you were tired? Or maybe you were anxious that it was taking a long time?
Maybe she was too wet for you? My wife and I always use lube, and I find that there is a delicate balance between using enough for her to feel comfortable, but not so much that I don’t feel much on my end. There needs to be some friction for me to enjoy it. Of course in your case it sounds like it was all natural lube, so there is no way to control it.
The feeling can be a bit less when things are wet. I usually have the opposite where it feels just right and I get super hard, but can last longer as it is less sensitive.
