Title says it all. I’m not socially shy and no one would ever believe you if you said I was. As of late though I’ve been retrospective on how I manage carrying conversations compared to others. Disregarding any details about how I do talk and my manner, I noticed I always say something to make the conversation almost about me, a lot, like enough that’s I’m here now discussing it haha. It can range from things like “ohh I’ve been there when such and such” or “literally me last week I couldn’t sleep any cause this or that” or “if I were you blah blah”. Maybe I’m just overthinking, but as of late have been trying to help make sure if the conversation isn’t about me first, then it stays on whoever it’s about. But I need fillers for talking and it’s such a head rattle! Ty

  1. Sometimes it’s easier to just ask the person about another detail to add onto their story. What you’re experiencing can be a trauma response to not fitting in well with others during your lifetime, and trying to make yourself seem relatable. Unfortunately, it can come off as trying to steal the spotlight.

  2. You’re overthinking it. But if it’s bothering you, dont try to relate and instead ask a question
