I have worn boxer shorts my whole life, but I think I’m in the minority. Why do so many men wear briefs? Don’t they feel less free? Is there a health reason, supporting your balls, etc that no one taught me?

  1. If you move then having your tip move freely around the fabric can be uncomfortable and itchy. Not to mention just how much everything bounces in sports/running.

And it looks better if you wear office pants or jeans and don’t want an underwear line to show through your pants.

And it makes your package look larger after you take your pants off.

  2. A large part of it is personal preference, some is body type. I wear compression / athletic boxers but I have a pretty active job. But I’ll wear my larger/ looser sets at home as i lounge. I hate briefs digging to my groin and they’re super uncomfortable on my junk. Straight boxers don’t do anything for support and are just useless imo.

  3. I can’t stand boxers, but I like going commando. Sometimes I wear low rise briefs if I want everything packaged up, but I usually prefer the freedom of no underwear

  4. I really enjoy the ball support of tighter underwear. I hate my balls sticking to my leg and taint all the time, I also dislike them swinging around as I walk around. Looser underwear also rides up my crack and above my waist, which I hate. The legs of loose boxers also bunch up under my jeans. It’s just much more comfortable to have the boxer briefs contain everything and stay in place while while doing so.

In fact, not only do I wear boxer briefs, but I specifically wear the ones with the ball support pouch. Those are a game changer.

  5. I started wearing them after my vasectomy and found that I really like them. Much more comfortable.

  6. I no longer wear underwear but preferred whitey tighties because boxer briefs tend to roll up and I hate that.

Briefs kept me dry in the crotch crease and boxer briefs don’t do that. My balls sweat and I want to try and keep them dry at all costs. Briefs are just better for that in my opinion.

And before I stopped wearing underwear the thought was I didn’t want my balls to drag to my knees so more support is better. Now I don’t care.

  7. I wear both boxer briefs and regular briefs… and I prefer the support and comfort of both. Everything just feels more comfortable when it’s held snugly in place.

I’ve never been a fan of boxer shorts… I’ve always found boxer shorts tend to get all bunched up inside my pants on top of constantly having to adjust myself.

  8. I don’t get the freedom of commando, i just imagine little breadcrumbs of pubic hair following them throughout their day, or even just scratching the tip on the inside zipper…

  9. Honestly, I started with boxer briefs cause women found them attractive(Calvins). Also they’re comfortable, baggy boxers are not comfortable at all.

  10. I wear compression shorts/pants for exercise to keep everything in place. otherwise I wear boxers

  11. boxers were always just a lot of fabric bunching up. tight boxer briefs are form fitting, keep everything mostly in place, i prefer how they feel, and, i believe, they look better.

  12. To keep my thighs rubbing against each other.. support while doing activities… but either boxers or none when i sleep

  13. Well I wear supportive underwear anytime I do something more active then walk short distances. It goes a long way to prevent any sort of chaffing, wicks sweat away, keeps things in place, and generally feels better for more athletic movements.

  14. I wear boxer briefs because it’s more comfortable for me to have everything supported than swinging around. They do feel less free but that’s the point, I prefer that.

If you prefer loose boxers stick with them. Everyone is different.

  15. I’ve been told that my package looks awesome in a pair of boxer briefs; but I do prefer the loose fit of a pair of shorts.

  16. I need support from wherever I can get it. God knows the people in my life aren’t a great source.

  17. Looser boxers just kind of wad up sometimes. Boxer briefs dont, and they look better when my pants are off.

  18. I’m with you. I don’t like my dick and balls pressed against my leg at all hours of the day. I also do work in the heat 12 hours a day doing pretty hard work. It’s one extreme to another. Wear what’s comfortable bro

  19. I wear loose boxers. I can’t stand briefs. Your cock is like plastered to your balls after 3hrs of sweating.. no thanks. Peels off your balls like one of those cheese slice packages 😅

  20. 99% of the time I’m in boxers. The only time I go for anything else is when it’s dummy hot out the extra moisture wicking is nice

  21. Briefs keep my shit in when I run, if I don’t wear briefs my balls hit my leg and I’m out bro

  22. I wore boxers until I discovered the bamboo briefs with the pouch. It’s a total life changer. Keeps them where they should be, but not super cramped, and the material feels invisible.

  23. Couple reasons: Tend to get sweatier in boxers, The fabric gets bunched up in them so I strongly prefer athletic compression shorts style, and I have big legs so I gotta keep the junk in place so i dont squish the nuts. Also i find tip rubbing against the fabric while moving around very annoying.

  24. Age. I used to only wear boxers. If I did that now the chances of me sitting on the boys is to damn high.

  25. I wear boxer briefs for support. If I wear just boxers it just moves around everywhere and is uncomfortable plus it’ll show more depending on what I’m wearing. Briefs are just the better option imo

  26. Boxers EDW, tighty whiteys for jogging and other physical stuff .. one keeps the yoyos from hitting the end of their string, but also allows for more mobility. Boxers on the other hand breathe better and more comfortable..

Basically sometimes you need to stow the luggage for a bumpy ride.

  27. I assume because some guys have loose scrotums. I will wear them if im doing long distance running.

  28. Not sure why your mom likes them. Make it hard to peal off after she gets soaking wet for dick.

  29. Loose stuff always rides up on me, I find I stay more comfortable and rearrange less with something supportive and the pouch style boxer briefs and trunks put some wicking fabric between ball and thigh which is a goddamn life saver in this climate, and it wraps things up in a generic bulge instead of having to deal with clearly visible dick print.

I’ll do boxers or freeball now and then, but not if I’m planning on moving much or being outside long term.

  30. I hated tighty-whities as a kid. Switching to boxers was a revelation in comfort. I go commando now. Can’t imagine going back to underwear. Just thinking about it makes my balls hurt.
