I’ll start, a while back my long term girlfriend had broken up with me so I went through the grieving phase and eventually decided to get back in the game. This was around the time that pickup/ day game videos on YouTube were popping off. My friend and I go out to the mall and as I’m making a purchase I notice that the cashier is very cute and overly friendly with me. We make small talk and i felt like i played it very cool. I take it as a sign to make a move. I want you all to note that at the time I was deathly afraid of public speaking and would noticeably tremble and shake when I was nervous. All that coolness I was feeling immediately dissipated as soon as I tried to ask her out. I began to tremble and my voice was shaking the entire time and I am absolutely positive my eye was twitching. I was that nervous. After I got the words out of my mouth all she could give me at the moment was a look of confusion and unease. To top it all off her coworkers were watching with their jaws to the floor in disbelief that this was really happening. After an agonizing 5 seconds she tells me “sorry i don’t live here”. Looking back that was an odd excuse but I just wanted out so I took it and left. My best friend didn’t say a word the entire ride back home lmao. Good times!

  1. Bruh yah I asked a girl out few months ago for first time in years and I think my hand was shaking as I took her number… then she proceeded to let me down in the most annoying way of just responding to my texts after like 2 days

  2. I’m a guy and I played on a co-ed soccer team. Once of the women on the team was attractive, athletic, competitive and I thought that was awesome.

The team usually went to drink beer after games and after two seasons, I made my move and asked if she wanted to stay and hang out with me more, just me.

She came back with, “Well, I’m gay as f**k but if it’s just a friends-platonic thing, I’m down.”

I said I meant more but that’s cool.

We still play on the same team and I act like nothing ever happened. That’s some cringe shit right there!

  3. A long time ago I asked out a coworker. Turns out that other coworker is not her brother, but her husband. I felt like such a moron.

  4. A friend and I had a competition to see who could get more phone numbers at the mall (we were young, and this was like 2 decades ago) and I was doing pretty good and started talking to this girl at a coffee shop and she was in the middle of giving me her number, paused, looked over my shoulder and said: actually I’m not interested.

Weird? yeah. Bummer? definitely. But I’m not an ass so I got up to leave, turned around and there’s my friend walking in our general direction. The girl I was talking to got up and made a beeline straight toward him and started chatting him up.

You see the thing is other than being tall and in decent shape I’m a relatively average looking guy. My friend, however, was an actual model. One of those people who is so annoying good looking that you just assume he’s going to be a jerk (he’s actually one of the nicest humans I’ve ever met) and he absolutely c*ockblocked me on accident 🙂
