Hello guys, I just moved to the UK, more specifically to Stratford Upon Avon.
I have a job as an engineer but for now I am living in a friends house.
My question is, what kind of living expenses per month should I expect? House and car related.
I am currently looking for a house in this location to rent for around 700£ but its quite hard.

No chance of a house in Stratford for that, you’re gonna be looking at minimum 1k. A car you can get on finance for 200 quid? I’d allow 1.4k per month.
You might find a houseshare for around that but not a solo house or flat. Are you looking on [SpareRoom](https://www.spareroom.co.uk/flatshare/?search_id=1158015964&)? If you are prepared to look in Coventry or Birmingham you might fare slightly better.
I live in the area, about ten miles away and Stratford Upon Avon is ridiculously expensive compared to everywhere else within 20 miles. You will not be able to find an acceptable place to rent there, in your budget, unless you share.
You are best living in Evesham, Worcester, or Coventry depending on how far you want to travel. Those are the cheapest places to rent in this area. Evesham and Coventry in particular, you will be able to find a 1 bedroom flat/studio for £300-£600 a month. House share maybe even cheaper. It depends on what sort of quality of place you are looking at.
As for the rest, I would lease a car or buy an older one. Council tax it depends which county you end up in, Wychavon (Evesham, Pershore, Droitwich) is pretty cheap as the Council is one of the richest in the country. Bills, food etc it just depends on what you use/eat.
