So, for context, there’s this coworker I really want to be friends or, at the very least, close acquaintances with. They’ve also expressed to me several times. that they wanted to make friends and work. We’ve had several conversations and attempted to get to know one another better or at least find something that we have in common. The one thing we did find was our love for reading. Since then though, it’s been difficult to hold conversations with them but I really want to invite them out so we can possibly become a bit closer? Also, they’re taking a leave of absence for a month and their last day is in 3 days which is why I’m texting them. Anyway, this is what I was going to text and say to them
“Hey M
Sorry for texting you so late but I wanted to ask you, are you free anytime soon? If so, would you like to go book shopping with me?
I meant to ask you today but I kind of missed the chance to…
Anyway, what do you think?”
