I have trouble justifying throwing mine away so I have a drawer full of dinky old socks I use for workouts, yardwork etc. Must have like 30+ lol

  1. Probably a dozen or so for work (or at least going into the office) and half that for at home/exercise/yard work. I never feel like I’m running low but I also feel like I never have enough lol

  2. i keep buying new socks, and i keep having to throw them away because they don’t last. i have to buy more again… can anyone recommend durable socks?

  3. Probably 12. I’ve been using Duluth trading company 7 year socks. I’ve had them 2 or 3 years and they are holding up real well.

  4. My job requires me to shower before I leave. So I have maybe 10 full length pairs at work that I wash separate. Then maybe 10 pairs ankle socks at home. Maybe 5 full length. 3 pairs of extra heavy warm socks for hunting (Canada) then maybe 1 pair black dress sock.

  5. I have 12 pairs of the same type and color–black. I replace worn and holey ones with the same. Keeps it simple. I wear socks only when I go out e.g. to work, otherwise nothing on my feet.

  6. 21 Pairs, all identical brown, plus one black pair for dress ocassions.

Seems like a lot, but I only buy socks once every 5-10 years, and buy all the same so I never have to worry about matching. Bought 3 weeks worth figuring some will eventually get damaged, and I will likely use these socks until I only have 7 good pairs, at which point they all become rags and I get a new set (since matching exact socks on this timescale can be difficult)

  7. A shit load. I buy 4 or 5 packs at a time of the same kind and dump then into my sock drawer. They all match and there’s a ton in there. After laundry’s washed and I’m putting them away, if they seem worn out I’ll toss it.

  8. Are they cotton?

Do your feet a favor and try out a pair of merino wool socks. Darn Tough and Smartwool are the most popular. They’re a bit more costly, but in my experience they last longer (when properly taken care of) and feel so much better while wearing them. Plus they help keep the stink away.
