Every time you catch yourself thinking about him/something he did you tell you brain “Hey, thanks for sharing that memory but we’re moving on” and then put your attention on literally anything else. Sniff something that smells good or count how many blue things you can see or touch something with a smooth texture—-anything that grounds you in the present moment. You have to retrain yourself to stop thinking about the past and focusing on the present moment.

  2. Start journaling. Either in your notes on your phone or a notebook. It helps.

    Spend time outside too. That will help the sadness.
