I’m a 35F dating(?) a 30M. He told me from the start that he is a bad texter and I should only expect one line messages from him. I’m the reverse and I text daily even with my close friends. I don’t use dating apps and we met through social media coincidentally then decided to meet in person. We only had two dates and I really had good time in both times. We both agreed we have a good connection and great physical chemistry but the problem is that he is too busy and because of our vacation schedules we couldn’t even meet since the beginning of August … He also warned me his relationships don’t work out because he travels all the time from the start, so it should also not be a surprise for me. But I feel like I always have to initiate conversations to remind him of my presence and I fear that we won’t even communicate if I don’t write to him at all. He usually answers directly when he reads my messages but it takes him 1-2 days to even read them… And I’m always the one trying to organize dates and he always has valid reasons why he is busy. I’m really attracted to him and this rarely happens to me( I have been single for 5 years) but not sure if it is because he is emotionally unavailable since I usually avoid dating overall. I cannot decide if I should just let him go or am I just self sabotaging myself?

  1. As someone who does a lot of travel and also returns texts at a delay, sometimes a few days…

I usually put forward the dates like. “Hey let’s meet up Tuesday night at blah blah blah…”. I almost always have to say I’m unavailable if asked.

If you are looking for something serious it is most likely not going to work out 🙁

  2. It sounds like he’s telling you he won’t do the bare minimum from the start because he doesn’t actually like you. He’s making sure you know his effort won’t be that great.

He’s planting seeds in your head so you go along with being treated badly. These are all things you’d say to someone you want to keep as an option but are waiting for someone better to come along.
