I want to have a better job and I dont think the skills are so hard at all, I just need to appear more human. Meaning showing emotions accurately to the outside environment and seeming trustworthy. I never really cared about being likable or trustworthy, but the promise of a higher income makes this desirable as it will allow me to live in a safer area. Lots of research suggests that charismatic people are more likely to make more money.

Mirror practice different emotions. Really work on the transition between different faces, increase and decrease the intensity. Make sure to pay extra attention to the muscles around the eyes and the eyebrows, as these are major selling points for a given expression. You want to generally aim for “calm, confident, curious, and a touch of mischief”
Otherwise, read Make Friends and Influence People (or, the OG guide of how to present yourself in a way that makes people want to like you automatically).
Learn how to small talk and how to work small talk in towards a real topic without jumping straight in.
Work on your physical stance and your handshake, they should be practiced to match your facial masking (If you’re projecting confident, you want a tall posture, if you’re relaxed as well your shoulders should be relaxed back and your stance loose).
Dress in more than one color. If you dress in all black or wear the same 3 shirts, vary it up.
