My ex (29F) and I (29M) have dated for a little over 4 years in LA and broke up last year in summer 21’ because I was talking to another girl on Snapchat. I had already planned on moving out of state to Seattle, so it made the move even more sour. A couple months later she moved on and got into relationship with her coworker at her new job, we’ll call him Zach. Out of guilt and regret, I stayed in contact with her hoping she’d give us another chance by the time I move back.
Long story short, we’ve been in contact all this time where we even briefly met up in Feb and we just talked, but she did express her feelings for me saying how much different things would be if I were still in LA.
She’s been telling me how much things have been falling apart in her relationship with Zach, how much she can’t be around him for too long, how he’s too needy and controlling. I’ve been giving her a shoulder to cry on and the guy to vent her problems to when shit goes down. We eventually started planning to attend a 2-day music festival in LA, planning the airbnbs, outfits, drugs, which sets to attend, the whole spiel.
The vibes have been great for a while until she broke up with him a month ago, which was supposed to work out in my favor.. but she started distancing herself heavily from me for the first time, leaving me in the dark for days and giving me excuses for weeks for being busy.
The other day she told me she’s back talking to Zach because she’s attached to him and missed him and felt lonely. I was baffled after all the shit she’s been saying about him, and telling me 10 days before the event, explaining how she felt guilty for hiding it from me not knowing how to tell me and would understand if I were to cancel the event on her.
TLDR; my ex and I of 4 years have been in contact throughout her relationship with her new man since I’m out of state. We’ve been planning to attend a festival for over two months as things were falling apart in her relationship, as she would rain complaints about him left and right. She recently got back with him and now I’m uncertain about what to do.
