Just got to college and I’m finding I’m not recognizing a lot of songs other people can sing along to at parties, bars, or just when hanging out.

I’m not saying I’m trying to force my music tastes to change as I do enjoy pop and rap music, but in high school I didn’t really listen to a lot of music in general so I’m just wondering where you guys discover new music or see what’s trending. Whether that’s streaming algorithms, if someone has a playlist, favorite radio station, etc or other advice for becoming less out of touch

  1. I wouldn’t worry about it, you’ll pick the songs up by hanging around with people – if you’re at the parties and bars, the new songs just sort of end up in your mind. I can still sing most of what was popular in clubs when I was at uni, despite never actively listening to any of it.
