What does it mean when girls give you their instagram and Snapchat ?

A lot of girls at my college will randomly approach me and give me their instagram and their Snapchat. I’ll be sitting at a table doing some school work and girls will walk up to me and tell me to add them on Snapchat or they’ll give me their instagram and tell me to DM them. What does this mean?
