Do you think a bit of competition against other women is inherent?

  1. Why *wouldn’t* there still be rivalry between some women? Even if we lived in a completely post-misogyny world, some people would still have disagreements and competitions amongst themselves. That’s just human.

  2. Is there? It’s never really felt like that to me for the most part, though everyone’s experience is different. I had rivals back when I played soccer and ran cross country, but those are competitive sports.

  3. I think the media makes us grow up feeling like we should want to be the prettiest, most fashionable, and most popular of all girls/women, and honestly I don’t think there’s a similar rivalry among men as men aren’t conditioned to believe that their value is linked to their appearance.

  4. Men are just as competitive. But we live in a patriarchal society where anytime two women have a disagreement or just don’t get along, it’s because we’re “competitive” or jealous”

Men can have full blown feuds and nobody makes an example out of it as some sort of proof that men are competitive with each other.
