Due to wanting to move quickly, I’m thinking of doing just this. I’m a little intrepid, excited and scared. Or, maybe I should rent for a bit before and look around. I’m not sure.

There are remote viewings available which maybe you did, but not actually physically view the property inside.

What are your stories?

  1. Who the fuck does this? Like that’s insanity. Even at property auctions you go and look around.

  2. My partner’s recently accepted an offer from an overseas student, who has only went on the video and photos in the ad.

We would never consider doing that ourselves, tho tbh the one 20 minute viewing for the property that we had an offer accepted for, doesn’t seem all that much better as I’m typing this out😂.

  3. Not me researching the fuck out of everything and overthinking every tiny thing when looking to buy…and then there’s this person.

  4. Yeah we did this. In all fairness we did send the mil in round to check it out first. But bought for 140 a few months ago and we are having it done up. A few surprises but nothing major and we are super happy.

  5. I’ve found that properties that look great online can be dismal in person, and vice versa. Buying anywhere takes ages, even if you offered without seeing it you’d have time to see it in person. Also plenty of places have multiple offers. Unless you have other major advantages, why risk going with someone who hasn’t even seen it and might back out?

  6. My wife viewed ours and assured me “it’s a fixer upper but has potential”. I took her word for it and she was right! Love the place
