Hi you guys! Something weird happened to me today and I didn’t quite know how to react. I’m regretting how I handled things and would appreciate any advice about what I should have done. So the story was this:

It was late in the evening, already dark outside and there was a thunderstorm. I was waiting at a busy bus stop when a creepy old man approached me, started talking to me and got uncomfortably close. From the corner of my eye I could see a guy in the back gesturing to me, asking if I needed help. I threw a pleading look at him, implying that I indeed needed help. Luckily the creep left just in that moment. The guy walked over to me and asked if I was okay. I was still a bit confused and perplex from what just happened (I don’t deal too well with these kinds of situations) so I just said “It’s all good, thank you!” so he left again. After I caught myself again I couldn’t help but stare at him. It had never happened to me before that someone would intervene and save me from situations like that. I wanted to say something to the guy but didn’t know what or how. And I really regret that now. I’m kind of hoping to maybe meet him again one day at that busstop but I wouldn’t know what to say then, too.

Does anybody maybe have a tip on what I could have done or can do if I ever see him again or if something like that happens again? Help is really appreciated! Thank you so much.

  1. If you see him again, tell him: Remember the other day when that creepy old guy was talking to me and you offered to step in and asked me if I was okay? I really appreciated your perceptiveness and that you were willing to help me. And I feel I didn’t express adequately how grateful I was. So thanks again.
