What’s the best response to ‘when are you getting married’?

  1. “When you decide to think before you speak” 🙂 (that’s if you been with your SO for mad long and haven’t gotten married yet)

  2. “When you pay for the most expensive wedding ever, and a honeymoon around the world. And then buy us a mansion.”

  3. When asked by an unmarried person (like my SO’s ‘stepmom’ who’d been in a relationship (but not married) with his dad for many many years): “we’re just waiting for you to lead by example”. And I was never asked again.

  4. “When will you learn to not put your nose in other people’s buissnesses and just let me live my life?”

  5. Don’t be rude (nothings wrong with natural human connection) and just say “I’m not sure yet”

  6. “When I fall I love with someone I actually like suffering with” used to be my response.

  7. I opted for humorous responses like “when the curse is lifted.” They never asked my bf that question it was always me so I would direct it at him, “I want to get married but he says I’m damaged goods.” It both took the onus off of me and forced my boyfriend to participate in the conversation instead of making me be responsible for our lack of marriage. I also would say, “I’m not allowed to get married until my first husband is found.” Never been married so that one would startle people.
