It’s not often that someone appreciates. This time it was strange, and I didn’t know what to react.

So my senior appreciated me while demeaning other works. It was like ” I like your work, you have done this which other member didn’t do properly. I’m doubtful about other member’s quality of work. But you have done good”

I just stood there in silence and smiled back. Then returned.

I didn’t know what to react cause of no social skills. Will be helpful if I know how to handle or react these situations, that doesn’t come out rude or laughable about others situation.

  1. Personally I’d blush and melt into a pile of goo but I guess a simple ‘thanks’ is sufficient.

  2. “Thanks” is fine, if you want to stick up for the others you could say something like “thanks, X did good too though, his Y was better” or whatever.

But you don’t need to do that, sometimes just brushing something aside is the best way to deal with it

  3. Respond to the positive and ignore the negative
Saying something like, “Thanks I’m so glad you like my work!” Is good enough
