is 8 yrs a good life span for a vibrator

I’ve had a G spot vibe from Adam&eve I use about 2-3 times a week it starting to turn on randomly in the bag. I went to change the batteries we’re wet think the seal finally failed. I wanted to know if this is from over use or average lifespan for a product like this?
