Everyone wants to be rich but how many actually go all in and try?

  1. Man, that’s positively minuscule. Most people just aren’t organized enough for that. I’d love to see a real statistic on this idea.

  2. To understand this you need to understand learned helplessness and systemic bias.

There are too many people out there just trying to survive and can’t even fathom becoming rich.

  3. How do you define “Rich?” In my mind there are several levels:

    1) If you make more than you spend, you are rich.

    2) If you make more than you spend and you have enough to live for several years without working, you are rich.

    3) If you have enough money to live for the rest of your life without working, you are rich.

    4) If you have enough money to live comfortably for the rest of your life without working, you are rich.

    5) If you have enough money to live large for the rest of your life and maybe your children’s lives, you are rich.

    6) If you have a serious fraction of a billion dollars, you are rich.

    7) If you have a billion dollars, you are rich.

    8) If you have tens of billions of dollars, you are rich.

    9) If you have hundreds of billions of dollars, you are rich.

I know a lot of people in the 4/5 range who all got there intentionally. I know a few people in the 5/6 range who got there intentionally. I’ve met and worked with a couple guy in the 7 range. They both did it intentionally. I’ve met Bill Gates.

  4. Lots of people try. But they’re lied to and lead to believe that they just have to work hard (at a regular job) and somehow they’ll just work their way to the top and be rich. For one thing, there’s only so many seats at the top. But to really be rich most people have to break free from wage slavery someone. And there’s a lot of luck involved. Right place, right time…

Plenty of people try. They just can’t find the path.
