Hi all, I(39f) and HB (50m) are generally in a very happy marriage since 5 years. There are always ups and downs here and there but I love him to bits and am sure he loves me the same way.
Now, few days ago, I got the ugly and nasty type of braces. He’s been very supportive in the research and possibilities, joined me to appointments and really supports me all the way (also buying special foods etc).
We always had the most amazing sex-life, and I’m sure that when the pain in my mouth becomes less we’ll be creative and enjoy it in another way. I’m very insecure about French kissing and giving a blowjob at this point (he never mentioned he needed that but it’s a regular part of our sexual connection).
I’m looking for some advice, experience of other people on how they handled this situation. All input is more than welcome.

Wow, im a guy and i think braces can be cute. But would definitely NOT want a BJ from a braces girl. I would constantly worry about nicks n cuts and it would put me off
I had braces for 3 years as an adult and it’s not fun to give bjs. Your mouth gets cut up. Not to mention if you need bands and they are shifting your jaw or teeth it’s not fun. It’s just something you’ll have to deal with and consider obtaining from. Frankly when I did try my husband had no complaints on his end but it was a no go from me. My entire mouth would be in sores and it wasn’t worth to pain and he didn’t have any problem with my not doing them.
Kissing isn’t a big deal. That shouldn’t be a problem or painful.
Your husband shouldn’t be upset about you not wanting to do something that causes you physical pain. If bjs are painful he should respect that it’s just not going to happen for a while.
Just tell him to tough it out until the braces come off. He will love the new smile !
Bad accident when young, lost a lot of teeth and have a partial as a result. When wife and I were dating, I was going down, partial slipped out of position and hooked underside of tongue. It could always be worse.
If you have had a great sex life up until now, well, lay off on the kissing/BJs for the moment and find some fun new things to try. Have any toys?
