Every dating app is only as good as your pics.
They are terrible if you don’t pay for the memberships
Be drop dead gorgeous, and you will not have to worry bout paying, let alone matching, if you’re just short of being a male model, you’ll struggle like everybody else, think of it like this, for every girl on an app, there’s 20 guys tripping over themselves trying to get her attention, you can get lucky but keep your expectations low, it’s better to just meet IRL
On make a profile (which is mainly your picture[s] and a bio). You see other profiles and you swipe to accept or reject them. You don’t have to pay but the apps will really push it.

they don’t. As a man, either you’re in top 5% of physical attractiveness, or you don’t get any matches. Match Group apps(tinder, okcupid, a few more) all have similar algorithm: first few days you will get shown to some women, in order to get you hooked on the app. Maybe you’ll even get a few matches, none of which will respond(because more often than not, they’re bots, or only there to promote their online prostitution gig, be it snapchat, onlyfans, or whatever). Then the “boost” ends, and you get nothing but ads for “premium package” until you decide to uninstall. This is how hookup apps are set up to monetize male loneliness.
