Depends on the nickname and who’s using it. If Amos Burton (The Expanse) met me and gave me a nickname, I’d consider it a very high honor.
Doesn’t bother me unless I hate the nickname. I have terrible memory for names and I know some other people use nicknames to deal with their trouble with remembering names.
Sup knob ed, you a friend of Dave’s?
That depends entirely on the nickname itself and the context of the encounter.
It’s rude. If I introduce myself as Camdoza there’s no reason for them to be calling me Cam or Cammie.
Depends on context. If I’ve not been introduced with a nickname and I didn’t tell them a nickname to call me, then they should call me the name that I have been introduced to them by. If I want to offer them a different name to use, then I can do so.
I don’t care what people call me at any point so long as A) I know what it is they’re calling me and B) it’s not blantantly meant as an insult.
I love nicknames
I find it really endearing. The first time my coworkers did it casually and spontaneously, I had a nice little rush of “awww!” feeling.

My name is often abbreviated to a nickname which I absolutely cannot stand, so it does happen a lot where people just assume that’s what I go by. I try not to be annoyed when it first happens, and 99% of the time people get it right after I tell them that I go by my full name. I do get irritated when people keep it up even after being corrected, though.
I can’t stand it. Especially nicknames like “sweetheart” and “sweet cheeks” really rubs me the wrong way.
Not cute. It’s assuming a degree of closeness that isn’t there.
Hate it. Feels overly familiar
Don’t mind at all as long as it is not offensive or mean. People often forget my name so I am use to just answering any name when they’re obviously trying to engage with me.
I prefer it. The only person that calls me by my government name is my younger brother. Even my co-workers and boss call my by my nickname.
I don’t blink an eye about it. Practically everyone eventually ends up making up their own version of my name sooner or later. I just have a name that lends itself to that pretty naturally. I think it’s cute that ppl just make it up on their own.
It’s kind of weird if I don’t introduce myself as such. Not like I’ll judge them but it just feels a little weird because only my close friends call me by a nickname.
