Hey, throwaway here! I (19M) have been thinking about having unprotected sex with my girlfriend (19F), who takes the pill, while she’s on her period. We have discussed it, but I’m worried about her having an unwanted pregnancy, even if we did anal. What are the odds of that happening under these two circumstances?

  1. If she takes the pill every day, as directed by her doctor, then the risk is very low of pregnancy, during any time of her cycle.

You can have sex during her period, very low risk of pregnancy even if she’s not on the pill. It’s maybe a bit messy but just put down a towel and have fun.

  2. Woman here. I’m on the pill. Have been for years. Never been pregnant. The pill, if taken correctly as instructed, is safer from unwanted pregnancy than condoms

There is no period while on the pill, only withdrawal bleeding.

Please take the time to read up on how contraception works.

Please get yourself some help for your anxiety/paranoia. That level of anxiety cannot be healthy.

About 0,1 – 0,9% depending on how correctly she takes the pill.

  4. You are protected from pregnancy equally during the placebo pill/period week as during the rest of the cycle, as long as the pill is taken as directed.
