As a male, when I’m walking or running along a path or whatever, and people are coming the other way or stationary on a bench, I never know how to acknowledge people.

In this situation, there’s not a bunch of people like a New York street, so ignoring people seems weird.

But smiling, nodding, or saying hello to every person seems weird too.

As a guy or girl, how do you interact with people in this brief moment?

I have a little social anxiety so I’m sure I’m overthinking this, but I would like to know what most/normal people do.

  1. Observe others and do what they do for the most part when it comes to strangers. The most neutral thing you can do is ignore, even if theres not alot of people. I know a few countries where others smile and even say hi, but thats not really the norm around the world. Unless you want to talk to people theres no reason to smile or nod or do anything really. Smiling especially could be considered creepy if you force it.
