Is it weird to send acquaintances and coworkers unsolicited pet pictures?

I have Asperger’s, if this helps with context.

I like taking cute pictures of my dogs and sending them to people sometimes. I send them to my family and friends, and I sometimes send them to acquaintances and coworkers who I would like to befriend.

Is this weird? I’ve never been told that it was weird, or to stop. Most of the time they don’t really respond. I just figure that’s because there’s not really much to say about it. But I’ve misread social cues before (again, Asperger’s), so I don’t know.
