i dont think i know anyone who would rather own a condo over a house, it usually comes down to price.
having a nice little backyard is quite a game changer, no elevator trips with groceries, not a pain to let your dog out, etc. i cant think of many advantages a condo has over a house
Been in both, pros and cons whatever your choice. Do prefer my house though as like privacy, it’s way more work though with maintaining the garden, lawn, house maintenance. But not racing to go back to a condo.
As much as I love a condo, it has to be a house. It’s like the dream end goal for anybody.
House. The ONLY downside to a house, is yardwork (or paying someone to do your yardwork). But, in a condo you pay the HOA fees, so, that kind of evens out. Basically everything else about a house is better than a condo. Unless you just love having neighbors and noise around all the time.
Ignoring the costs, i prefer a house, i enjoy space and a nice air flow
I think it depends on what stage of life you’re in. If I was a single guy in my 20s (like I am now) a condo sounds really cool, but I had a wife and kids, or I was more prepared to take on all of the extra costs that come with a house, then I’d pick the house no doubt.
House 100%
I want space, I want a private outdoor area, I want room to spread out inside.
House.
It’s just better in every way except cost.
Privacy, isolation, can do pretty much whatever you want whenever you want, don’t have to listen to people arguing, don’t have to worry about other people burning all your possessions to ash, have a yard to yourself you can style, have a garage for your car or a workshop, can build things if you want…
condo is depressing, would get house if possible
Condo. I’m over exterior maintenance of the home and lawn, It’s never ending and thankless.
House with a lawn care service. fuck mowing
The freedom to do what ever i want to it.
House.
I hate people. I don’t want them to have any say over what I can do with shit I bought.
I’ll never own a condo, I’ll never buy an apartment, I’ll never buy in an HOA.
Going to against the grain and say I’d be happy with an 80-100m2 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom flat. Master bedroom, kid bedroom, study and a combined kitchen/dining/living area. Small storage unit in the basement and a parking spot in the yard or the garage. That’s about all I need.
I originally thought about getting a house and had started the research, but I’m not a handy person and owning a house and doing maintenance is too much work for too little reward.
Condo. I am a granola person and care about things like how impactful my lifestyle is on the planet.
Other people are free to think that’s stupid, but at least it’s honest.
