I’ve been dating my partner for a while now and his birthday is coming up. He’s not a fan of restaurants, and he doesn’t like presents. But he does like experiences or going out and doing things.

He’s not fussy about what but it got me thinking, Men of Reddit, what’s been your favourite date (that you didn’t have to plan)?

  1. well as long as neither of you are over 240lbs then I’d suggest a nice trail ride or a horseback excursion. You don’t need to be a cowboy to just sit and let the horse do it’s job and a nice meal afterwards will taste even better. Plus fall is the perfect time for trail riding because the bugs and insects are down and the weather is cooler.

  2. I met my husband on a gay bear website.

After talking for several months online, I went to visit him in Mexico (I live in the US).

We stayed at a hotel for a week since it was our first time meeting. We just sort of spent time getting to know one another.

Since it was a hotel, we didn’t have the ability to cook there, so we had to go out to buy food.

One night, we ordered pizza and bought some cakes from a nearby bakery. We went up to the roof of the hotel, had dinner, and just talked.

It was lovely. Simple, but beautiful. The sunset, the company, the food.

The fact that we’re separated now, 8 years later, in no way reflects on that interaction.

  3. Concert, comedy show are in my top 2. Can’t decide which is best.

Trip away to an airbnb at a local vacation destination was the best weekend date.
