Basically my boyfriend (20M) and I (19F) have been dating for about 3-4 months. Before we started dating, we were in a friend group together and he became a pretty good friend, and then I found out he liked me, and here we are now

The problem is that I don’t really feel an emotional connection, and truly believe we would be best off as just friends. I’m not invested in our relationship and barely even have time to think about him, which I know isn’t fair to him. There’s nothing wrong with him, we just don’t connect in the way I’d like.

So I want to break up with him. But I’ve never broken up with anyone before, and I want to do so in a kind and respectful way, and make it minimally miserable. I know he’s pretty whipped for me, which makes this all harder. What’s the best way to go about breaking up with him without being a horrible person?

TLDR; advice for first break up

  1. you say that this isnt working for you and its time to break up. if he asks why then tell him you dont feel connected the way you should and you dont want to try anymore.
